Finding Hope Takes Patience

“Patience is a virtue,” my Grandma Combs used to say. And truthfully, I don’t ever remember her running out of it. Me? I did not inherit that particular trait. Don’t roll your eyes… okay, go ahead—laugh out loud if you know me. It’s true, and we all know it.
Terrence came into our lives in a way that not even a Hollywood script could dream up—unless the writer and director had lived it themselves. What followed was a delicate dance of learning how to work together, find balance, and keep moving forward while life continued to swirl all around us.
There were moments when patience felt stretched thin. Times when we stumbled. Times when we lost. But along the way, something unexpected happened. Learning patience—real, uncomfortable, hard-earned patience—became the greatest reward for all of us.
Sometimes the lessons that test us the most are the ones that change us forever.
